Next week will be our first Art’s Fellowship group meeting with our new book The Creative Call. If you don’t have a copy yet you can purchase one for $15 at the meeting or buy one here. Rather than the typical read through we are going to be going through the activities and some discussion.
As usual, bring anything that you would like to share. If you have any prayer requests, feel free to leave them in the comments or email me.
Lastly (and most importantly) – I plan on shifting from sending emails to ONLY posting meeting updates and news on the blog. If you would like to receive updates to your email, you can subscribe to our blog at the bottom of this page.
Talk with you all soon!
I am following up last week’s discovery with this week’s discovery. The artist Qi Wei Fong has taken his photography in a slightly different direction. He sets up a camera and takes a series of photos over a day, or multiple days. I have often seen photographers make time lapse photos, or even just select the most beautiful photo from the set. But instead of doing either of these things, Fong splices the pictures to great effect. In the beginning he only created still images, but now he has added moving ones. Here is a link to his blog.
I can’t help but to re-post this amazing artist…his name is Daniel Rozin and his works are both creative, beautiful, and technically masterful. I hope that this inspires everyone! See you tomorrow night at Spark!
It is time to get this blog in order, and we have a tall order cut out for us. I am excited to grow our community through this online format, and even more excited to see what God can do through people willing to follow.
On that note, thanks to everyone who attended the meeting last night. I was encouraged by your vulnerability and I hope we can pursue those areas of fear and doubt. Over the past few years it has become more clear that God loves to work in these areas of our weakness – and then He shows up!
Some notes –
- Every week I would like to post prayer requests. If you have any requests, feel free to either leave them in a comment or email them to us, and I will do my best to compile and post them.
- A slight make-over is coming soon to the blog…so you will have to let me know what you think.
- I read a fantastic article about why Christians should create. You can find it here.
